Our Vision for 2009
With the rise of the Obama administration and the decline of the economy — as well as the birthdays of John Calvin and Charles Darwin being celebrated this year — 2009 affords a slate of unique discipleship opportunities that Vision Forum Ministries is committed to pursuing to help build up families in the Lord.
In commemoration of John Calvin’s 500th birthday, we will be championing the legacy of the Reformers through our Reformation 500 Celebration to be held in historic Boston the week of July 1-4, even as we will be combating the false philosophies of Charles Darwin on his 200th birthday through the production of 12 new Jonathan Park episodes, as well as through a special, targeted effort to deconstruct Darwin’s findings on the Galapagos Islands. All this is in addition to our other ongoing projects and signature events designed to encourage Christian families.
Specific Needs & Support Opportunities
Planning Giving
In order to wisely steward our resources (time, personnel, and finances), Vision Forum Ministries seeks to have a responsible budget based on planned giving. Specifically, we are asking the Lord to provide for us a base of $50,000 a month in planned giving to cover our operating expenses. This is the equivalent of 500 people donating $100 a month to this ministry.
If you have been blessed by the work of this ministry, would you consider making a monthly commitment of some amount to help us accomplish the goals we have set before the Lord?
Join the Jonathan Park Creation Response Team!
This year, the Jonathan Park Radio Adventure Drama has an opportunity to be enormously effective for the kingdom of God through twelve powerful new episodes that will allow us to help families respond biblically to one of the defining news story of 2009 — the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin and the 150th of the publication of his book, The Origin of the Species by Natural Selection or, The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life.
Help keep the Creation adventure alive through a financial contribution, and receive special Creation Response Team Member benefits such as a Jonathan Park Pin and the privilege of performing in an up-and-coming Jonathan Park episode! Click here to learn more about this special opportunity.
Help Make San Antonio a Beacon-Light for Christian Filmmaking!
In January 2009, history was made at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival awarded $101,000 — the single-largest cash prize given by any film festival — to The Widow’s Might. The ’09 festival was also noteworthy for the unified vision and message of the participants such as Dean Jones, Kirk Cameron, Stephen Kendrick who communicated that the time has come for Christians to develop biblically-sound films outside Hollywood.
Yet there is more work to be done. By financially supporting the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival(SAICFF) and Christian Filmmakers Academy, you will help: a) provide training and sponsorship opportunities to Christian students; b) enable the SAICFF to maintain a dedicated staff; c) execute a successful strategy for equipping Christian filmmakers; d) solidify San Antonio as the hub for independent Christian filmmaking. Click here to learn about specific goals of the SAICFF as well as some of the benefits you can receive as a financial supporter of this effort.

Our Commitment to Good Stewardship
We are constantly amazed at how God meets our needs and provides just enough financial resources to allow us to continue this debt-free ministry. We take your support very seriously and believe that every penny must be wisely and strategically used to bring practical help and a message of hope to the “remnant” — to encourage those who desire to see God bring revival to the family, the church, and society. Therefore, we strive to do the very best we possibly can, to steward our resources, and make every penny stretch, to accomplish the most with what we have been entrusted. A financial oversight board, as well as in-house accounting and an outside CPA firm, all help to ensure the integrity of this ministry.
We are thankful for every person who has chosen to financially stand with Vision Forum Ministries and partner with us. Thank you for your prayers and support.
