About the Event

Join us for a Special Workshop on Fatherhood

The Masters Plan for Fatherhood is a two-day workshop designed to give men a clear biblical roadmap for their role as dads. As part of this two-day event, to be held April 6-7 in Wake Forest, North Carolina, we will encourage men to actively train up their children in the ways of the Lord through biblical exposition and training in the practical matters of fatherhood. Everything in the conference schedule will work to provide fathers a practical daily roadmap for leading their families in life through the Word of God. Each man will leave with a theological base and a written plan to guide him in his everyday life. This workshop will uniquely focus its exposition on important fatherhood passages found in the Old Testament.

Conference Highlights

  • Study the flagship fatherhood passages in Scripture.
  • Learn techniques for memorizing scripture with your family.
  • Learn the techniques of “expository reading” of Scripture.
  • Discuss and plan for how to make your schedule work to fill your home with the precious promises of God.
  • Go home with a written plan that is consistent with the tenets of Biblical fatherhood.

Because registration is limited, the conference will also include the opportunity for personal time with the conference faculty.

You will also have the added benefit of personal time with the people at Hope Baptist Church on Sunday, and the Brown home for a Sunday afternoon of fellowship and ministry. After the conference, everyone is invited to attend Hope Baptist Church in Wake Forest and then to come to Scott Brown’s home for more discussion on Sunday afternoon. This will conclude with the traditional scrambled egg sandwiches and shakes — a weekly tradition in the Brown home.

Raising Up Faithful Fathers: A Critical Need

We believe that a restoration of the biblical tenets of fatherhood presents the greatest untapped evangelistic opportunity before the church today: the salvation of millions of children under the evangelistic and discipleship ministry of fathers and mothers in the home. This is not the only mission field, to be sure, but it is perhaps the most neglected mission field before the church in our time. The Bible calls fathers to preach the gospel to their children everyday, when they “sit in their house, when they walk by the way, when they lie down and when they rise up” (Deuteronomy 6:7). This kind of instruction gives children a true understanding of the gospel.

Consider the Evangelistic Impact of Faithful Fathers

Think of the evangelistic impact faithful fathers can have in our generation. It is a father’s calling in life to pass on the knowledge of God to the next generation. A father is commanded to expose his children day after day to the greatness of God, the perfections of His ways, and the great stories that explain his immutable character and nature. Daily, he praises God with hundreds of words and practical principles. Day after day, his children observe him as he personally delights in the Word. They watch him as he places himself under its wonderful teaching. They see how their daddy is comforted and confronted by it and is changed before their eyes. They see how good and mighty God is, and how foolish it is to turn away from Him. Time after time, they see how their father trusts God’s Word, making it a lamp before them, rather than growing discouraged or confused in the midst of difficult circumstances.
