About the Event
July 10, 2009, marks the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin. Though he was born five hundred years ago, his labors — along with the efforts of other Protestant Reformers of the sixteenth century — shook the West and blazed a trail of liberty around the globe. The Reformers’ commitment to mass disseminate the Scriptures into the common tongue of believers and to apply God’s Word to all of life and culture led to the unshackling of the family, church, and state from long-held error. Through the Reformer’s efforts, God was exalted, tyranny was quashed, and civilization was transformed.
Join us this July 1-4 in Boston, Massachusetts, for the Reformation 500 Celebration as we commemorate the Reformation’s influence on Western Civilization over the last half a millennium. Learn how the Reformation changed the world as you listen to over a dozen historians and speakers present more than forty sessions spanning the Reformation period to the present. Walk America’s Independence Trail and visit our landmarks of liberty as part of our Faith and Freedom Tours of historic Boston. See history brought to life through special plays and dramatic presentations. And hear the anthems of America’s past played as part of a musical tribute to our nation’s liberty — a legacy built on the Reformer’s faithful witness.

The historic and elegant Boston Park Plaza Hotel is the venue for this family event with the finale — featuring a Fourth of July fireworks show and Boston Pops concert — to be hosted on the famed Esplanade along the Charles River.
We are pleased to announce the creation of a special Reformation 500 Celebration’s Pilgrimage to Plymouth June 29 and 30. This powerful two day tour will fill fast with room for just 150 people. We look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate the providence of God in our nation’s founding and the birthplace of her spiritual heritage!
