About the Event

The year 2007 will mark the four hundredth anniversary of Jamestown, the birthplace of America’s Christian history. The anniversary presents a remarkable opportunity to study God’s providence in our nation. To build a future for our children, we must remember the past, but we must see the past through the lens of biblical Christianity. We must be grateful for the hand of God in our nation and we must teach our children to be grateful (Psalm 78).

For the first time ever, Vision Forum Ministries has added a second Faith and Freedom Tour to a single calendar year — this one centered in Williamsburg, Virginia — in order to accommodate more families. This tour will give you the opportunity to experience Independence Day as never before in the land of our Founding Fathers. This last Faith and Freedom Tour before America’s Quadricentennial will be a special time for fellowship, study, and remembrance. Held June 28-July 5, participants will be treated to private reenactments, talks about the true story of the Jamestown colony and Captain John Smith, time to study the remarkable providences of God in preserving the Jamestown colony through tremendous adversity, plus some first looks at preparations for the upcoming four hundred year anniversary.

On this tour, join historians Doug Phillips and William Potter as they visit:

  • The Original Jamestown Settlement
  • Colonial Williamsburg
  • Scotchtown — the home of Patrick Henry
  • Sherwood Forest — the home of the tenth President of the United States
  • Arlington National Cemetery
  • Mount Vernon — the home of George Washington
  • Monticello — the home of Thomas Jefferson
  • Yorktown — the scene of the final American defeat of the British in the American Revolution
  • Enjoy a private live reenactment of Patrick Henry’s famous “Liberty or Death!” speech at the original location in Richmond, Virginia
  • Celebrate the Fourth of July at Colonial Williamsburg
  • And many more surprises are in store!

This remarkable tour will culminate with a fireworks display at Colonial Williamsburg as we celebrate the independence of our nation.

Also, remember that the week following the Virginia Faith and Freedom Tour, Vision Forum Ministries will be hosting the History of the World Mega-Conference. For those who are able to join us for both events, this will be a remarkable way to add another week to your study of God’s providence in history.
