Portraits on the Patio
This year we are offering two times to get your picture taken with your daughter(s) - Friday from noon to 3pm or Saturday after High Tea from 2pm to 7pm.
Included in Registration
Friday picnic dinner and ice cream social, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, high tea on Saturday, a special Father and Daughter portrait and hours of valuable teaching are included in your registration costs.
What to Wear
We are grateful you and your daughters are coming to the conference. The event will call for a variety of attire. Friday afternoon we will be on the grand lawn playing games so modest - coverage and fit - active wear would be appropriate. You will see most men in Dockers and a polo or similar while the majority of the ladies will be in casual dresses and a few in pants. The sessions in the ballroom are business casual with most men in slacks and a dress shirt or polo while the ladies again would be in dresses or pants. The dress up event is High Tea on Saturday. The men wear suits and ties while the ladies wear their best dress and we enjoy a glorious afternoon.
What age is appropriate?
We have daughters attend ranging from 4 to 30. The schedule is a bit rigorous for the younger ones so stamina is a factor. Friday starts with outdoor games, an afternoon picnic, ice cream social and evening message ending near 10:30pm. Saturday is a full day starting with breakfast at 6:30am, messages at 8:30am, high tea at 12:30pm, free time in the Gardens until 7 or so and then more messages and sharing, ending around 10:30pm. Sunday concludes the Retreat with breakfast available starting at 6:30am and a worship service at 10:30am concluding at noon. Messages are brought by both Fathers and Daughters and are saturated with Scripture which pierces the heart of all ages.
Are wives and siblings allowed to accompany fathers and daughters to the event?
While wives and other siblings are certainly not prohibited from accompanying their husbands and daughters to be with them at Callaway, we strongly encourage fathers to choose to make this occasion one that provides an atmosphere that will allow him to devote his entire attention to his daughter and the study of important Biblical principles in each conference message and activity. We have often witnessed great works of the Lord as the value that the father and daughter have for one another is more freely nurtured and communicated in this setting .
Please note that the activities of the retreat are available only to those who register and are not open to spectators. If you need an extra room for family that is not registered for the retreat, Callaway Gardens has agreed to offer additional rooms for the conference rate of $102 single/double and $108 triple/quad plus tax. You may make these arrangements directly with Callaway at 1 800 225-5292.
Event only price?
The retreat is a package that includes a guest room on Friday and Saturday night. We have contracted with Callaway for a package that obligates us to provide them with a certain amount of guest rooms in addition to food and beverage. At this time we are not able to offer an event only registration.
