Details
Join us Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1 for this unique event. The retreat will begin with registration at noon in the Mountain Creek Inn Lobby on Friday, March 30. At this time, you will receive your conference materials and your hotel room key (If your hotel room is not ready for check-in, please return to the registration table after the Unity Games to pick up your key). If the hotel rooms are cleaned and ready, you may check into your room during the registration time. However, the official check-in time for the hotel rooms is not until 4:00 p.m. Please note that the Father and Daughter Unity Games begin at 3:00 p.m. on the Grand Lawn, so please come prepared and dressed in the clothes you will wear for the Games and the Picnic as most attendees may not have a chance to check into your hotel rooms prior to the start of the conference.
The Mountain Creek Inn Ballroom is the location of our retreat from Friday through Sunday. We will begin the retreat with our Father and Daughter Unity games at 3:00 p.m. on the lush Grand Lawn just outside of the Mountain Creek Inn Ballroom. This will be followed by an Old Fashioned Picnic on the Grand Lawn with checkered tablecloths and picnic baskets. (The picnic baskets are yours to take home!) The picnic will be followed by an Ice Cream Social in the Mountain Creek Inn Ballroom, followed by a welcome message, motivational messages designed to communicate vision for strong father and daughter relationships, and some surprise activities.
On Saturday, the morning starts with a Grand Breakfast Buffet in the Plantation Restaurant that will include eggs, breakfast meats, pastries, and many other dishes including Callaway’s famous grits. The breakfast has been paid for with your registration fee, but it is optional and is on your own in the Plantation Restaurant, so please give yourself enough time to eat and be in the Ballroom for the start of the morning sessions. Following the messages, fathers and daughters will be treated to a high tea at 12:30 p.m. that will include beautiful fresh floral arrangements, delicious foods prepared by Callaway’s chef, and your own teacup and saucer to take home with you as a remembrance of this special event. This is a special time for fathers and daughters to dress up and spend an elegant outing together. Please come to the sessions in the morning dressed in your High Tea attire as we will not have time after the messages to change. Daughters will want to wear their best dresses and fathers their best suits.
For more information on the history of high tea, please click here.
Saturday afternoon will consist of free time for fathers and daughters as they enjoy visiting the beautiful gardens, trails, and venues at Callaway. This is also a time for fathers and daughters to work together on the father and daughter questionnaire which will be in your notebooks. We will resume again in the evening for more encouraging and challenging messages along with testimonies from those in attendance. We will start the day on Sunday with a wonderful Breakfast Buffet, set up just like Saturday morning, and end the retreat as we meet together on the Lord’s Day for worship.
